Overview

What is Slite?

Slite is a self-maintaining AI knowledge base designed to keep your team's documentation accurate and in sync with reality. It combines a collaborative doc editor with AI-powered features that detect outdated content, suggest fixes, and automate maintenance tasks. Trusted by over 1,700 companies, Slite aims to be the single source of truth for team knowledge, reducing the manual effort of keeping docs current.

How Slite works

Slite works by connecting to your existing tools—such as Slack, Linear, GitHub, and your codebase—and monitoring for changes that affect your documentation. When the AI detects "knowledge drift" (e.g., a process change or new feature), it drafts an update and routes it to the appropriate person for approval. This workflow is supported by:

  • Doc verification: Team members can verify docs to signal accuracy.
  • Knowledge Management Panel: A central dashboard to review AI-suggested updates and manage docs in bulk.
  • Slite Agent: An AI agent that watches your tools and triggers doc updates automatically.
  • AI Search: Answers questions based on your docs and connected tools.

Main features

  • Real-time collaborative editor with comments, mentions, and notifications.
  • AI search & answers within Slite docs and across connected tools.
  • Doc verification workflow to ensure content stays trustworthy.
  • Slite Agent for automated doc maintenance and fact-checking.
  • Knowledge Management Panel for bulk actions and insights.
  • Integrations with Slack, Linear, GitHub, and more, plus MCP and API access.
  • Custom templates, recurring docs, and doc history.
  • Public sharing with SEO indexing and custom domains (on higher tiers).
  • Security features like SSO, SCIM, audit logs, and SOC 2 Type II compliance.

Pricing

Slite offers three pricing plans:

  • Basic: $10 per user/month (billed yearly). Includes unlimited docs, AI search within Slite docs (30 questions/seat/month), doc verification, and 5GB storage per user.
  • Pro: $20 per user/month (billed yearly). Adds Slite Agent, search across connected tools, doc fact-checking with suggested fixes, 50 monthly agent credits per seat, OpenID SSO, and custom domain for public docs.
  • Enterprise: Custom pricing. Includes everything in Pro plus reader-only seats, advanced security controls, audit logs, SLA, dedicated account manager, and custom agent sources.

Common use cases

  • IT & Operations: Keeping runbooks and troubleshooting guides up to date.
  • Product & Engineering: Syncing specs and changelogs with code changes.
  • Customer Support: Drafting help center articles based on ticket trends.
  • Human Resources: Maintaining employee handbooks and policy docs.
  • Sales: Updating pricing and playbooks after closed deals.

Limitations

  • Pricing: Requires a paid plan for full AI features; free trial may be limited.
  • Storage: Basic plan has 5GB per user, which may be insufficient for large teams.
  • AI credits: Pro plan has a monthly credit limit for agent workflows.
  • Integrations: Custom agent sources are only available on Enterprise.
  • Dependency on connected tools: The AI's effectiveness relies on integrations with external tools.

Summary

Slite is a modern AI knowledge base that addresses the common problem of stale documentation. By automating the detection and correction of outdated content, it saves teams time and ensures information remains reliable. With flexible pricing and a strong feature set, it's suitable for companies looking to maintain a trustworthy knowledge hub.
