AI-Ready Score

Can an AI agent actually use this product?

AI-Ready measures whether an autonomous agent can operate a product end-to-end. Agents fail in a predictable order: they cannot find the product's machine surface, cannot learn it, cannot operate it, or cannot verify what they did. The score follows that journey — discover, learn, operate, verify — instead of checking whether an API merely exists.

  • Discover

llms.txt and sitemap declarations — the signals agents use to find a product's machine-readable entry points. 2 checks.

    checks
  • Learn

Documentation quality: docs, quickstart, API reference, OpenAPI spec, request and response examples, and error semantics. This is where most products lose agents. 7 checks.

    checks
  • Operate

Machine interfaces: HTTP API, non-interactive CLI, SDK, MCP server, webhooks, and machine-friendly authentication. 7 checks.

    checks
  • Verify

Verifiability: structured output, success signals, rate limits, and versioning an agent checks its own work against. 5 checks.

How the score is calculated

Aggregated from the Seek AI agent-readiness benchmark: six dimensions and twenty-one automated checks (docs, quickstart, OpenAPI, MCP, CLI, structured output, and more), each verified against public documentation — never vendor claims. A published audit drives the score; products without one show a clearly labeled preview.

Why it matters

  • Agents evaluate products the way a new engineer would: can I find it, learn it, run it, and confirm the result without asking a human?
  • Docs and MCP/skill surfaces are acquisition channels that do not depend on search rankings — agents discover tools through registries and documentation, not ads.
  • The benchmark is conservative on purpose: undocumented or beta-gated interfaces score zero until they are publicly usable.

GEO-Score

Will AI search engines cite this page?

GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) measures how ready a page is to be quoted by AI answer engines — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI Overviews. Classic SEO gets you ranked; GEO gets you quoted. The score audits the page itself: can crawlers reach it, can machines parse it, can engines trust it enough to cite it.

  • AI crawler access

AI crawlers can fetch the page: robots rules allow citation-critical crawlers, the page is indexable, and snippets are not restricted.

  • Machine readability

The content ships in server HTML — not injected by JavaScript — with clean URLs, a sitemap, and a declared language.

    20
  • Structured data

JSON-LD schema (product, FAQ, breadcrumbs) that states explicitly what the page is about.

    20
  • Content & citability

Answer-shaped content: question-style headings, answer-first sections, lists, and statistics that engines can extract cleanly.

    20
  • Trust & E-E-A-T

E-E-A-T signals: authorship, dates, consistent brand identity, and linked privacy and terms pages.

How the score is calculated

Five dimensions, 20 points each, summed to 100. Each dimension runs a fixed checklist of automated checks (pass / warn / fail). Passed checks earn full weight, warnings earn partial weight, and failures earn zero — so the score moves as the page's machine-readiness improves.

Why it matters

  • AI answers cite pages that are fetchable, parseable, and fact-dense. Each failed check is a reason an engine picked a competitor's page instead.
  • Most warnings are cheap fixes: add schema, expose dates, allow crawlers, render content server-side. Small changes move the score quickly.
  • GEO does not replace classic SEO — it compounds with it. Pages that rank well and score well get cited by both humans and machines.

Frequently asked questions

What is Seek AI?

Seek AI is a curated directory of the best AI tools for every job — writing, video, code, and design. Each listing is scored by independent AI agents across six dimensions, with pricing verified weekly and alternatives compared side by side.

How are tools scored?

Every listing is scored by independent AI agents across six dimensions — from output quality and reliability to pricing and ease of use. Scores are re-checked as the tool and its pricing evolve.

How does a product get listed?

Open Submit, paste your product link, add a short pitch with its category and pricing, and our editors review it before it goes live.

Can I edit a listing after it goes live?

Yes. Sign in with the account that submitted the product and manage everything under My tools: details, updates, and takedowns.

Does paying guarantee a listing?

No. Paid plans buy faster review and better placement, but every product passes the same editorial check.

Can I pay to raise my scores?

No. Both scores are computed from public, verifiable signals. Sponsored placements are always labeled and never affect AI-Ready or GEO.

How do I improve my AI-Ready score?

Start with the Learn stage — docs, quickstart, and an OpenAPI spec are the cheapest, highest-leverage fixes. Then expose machine interfaces (MCP, non-interactive CLI), and make results verifiable with structured output. Each check lifts the underlying benchmark dimensions.

When do real audits replace preview scores?

Product pages currently show deterministic preview scores. Automated audits (the same checks behind this methodology) are being connected — the dimensions and scoring will not change.
